Merry Christmas

Christmas is coming!! It looks like we're in for a white Christmas this year. It has been snowing a lot the past few days. I had a great birthday yesterday. I hope everyone has a great Christmas!!

Let it Snow!

Home for the Holidays!! I felt pretty good about all of my finals and I am so glad that they are over! I got home just in time for a big snow storm to hit. The pictures are from yesterday and it's still coming down today!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was really good. I was able to come home after work on Tuesday and help my mom clean the house and prepare the food for our thanksgiving feast. Two sets of grandparents came to our house and it was great because it added two more to the usual number. We had a good time eating and visiting together.

Today we went as a family to see the Twilight movie and I thought it was pretty good. My dad enjoyed it too even though he hasn't read any of the series. It was interesting to see his perspective. We went to the mall to do some Christmas shopping tonight. It was still pretty busy around 8:00pm but not as busy as I was expecting. We did get some shopping done but not much.

I'm Am Thankful...

..for Thanksgiving!! I can't wait to go home and eat some yummy food with my family next week!

A quick update:
*I haven't gone home for a long time and I am ready for a break from school and everything!
*This weekend I'm going to a Coldplay concert with my family!
*I found out yesterday that I have one less final to stress about because we get to drop a test in the class and I've scored over 100% on all the tests so far in the class!
*After thanksgiving I only have two weeks until Christmas break!!!

Bite Me!!

I just wanted to report that after working with animals for several years I have finally been bitten.
I got bit early this week at work when I was holding a black poodle named Puff. Puff had been shot in the neck by a BB gun and was very angry about it. I got bit in three different places on my hands and so did another technician. The doctor had to break out his lead gloves in order to handle Puff without getting bit himself. Puff underwent surgery the following day to remove the BB in his neck and is doing well.

Halloween Fun

Last night the Pre-Vet club had a scary movie night and we watched "I Am Legend" and had an assortment of junk food. It was fun! Before the movie we got a tour of the new animal science facility. The tour was given by one of Utah States practicing veterinarians and he took us into some really neat rooms. We saw a really expensive microscope that has the capability of splitting embryo's and a really neat surgery room that is designed specifically for cattle and horses. It was a pretty fun night.

Today I took my dogs for a hike up in the canyon since they are up here boarding while the family is on vacation. It was really fun and it made me wish I could have a dog where I live so I could do that more often. The weather was perfect. I feel bad for my dogs though because they really didn't want to go back into the kennel after the hike. It's been kind of weird knowing what they do when they aren't at home.

Fall Break and Thriller

Last Friday was Fall Break so I went home on Thursday night to hang out with the family. It was a greatly needed break since I had 4 tests last week and no time for fun. On Friday I went to a movie with Grandma Allen, mom, and Morgan. We went to Eagle Eye and I really liked it!. We went camping on Saturday to clean up our lot and bring our trailer home before it starts snowing. It was a fun break!
On Monday I went to Thriller, a halloween dance production that I've gone to for the last few years. I went with five other girls and we had a lot of fun. Well, that's what I've been up to lately.

The Melting Pot

I went home for the weekend and to celebrate my moms' birthday our family went to the "Melting Pot" in Salt Lake. The 'Melting Pot' is a really yummy fondue restaurant. Everything you eat is fondue style. We had an appetizer of bread and vegetables dipped in a cheese fondue. The main course was a variety of different meats that you cooked in a seasoned broth. Dessert was my favorite. My mom chose white chocolate fondue with strawberries, bananas, marshmallows, brownies, etc. It was all yummy! We had a good time eating and talking together. Tomorrow is my mom's actual birthday and she is 40!!!

Fall Is Here!!

I drove up the canyon today and took pictures of the changing leaves. It is certainly fall now! I really like fall!!

Getting Ready for Grey's

This week I am so excited for Grey's Anatomy to start its' 5th season!! Yeah!! It starts on Thursday with a 2 hour show. The previews look intense and I hope that this season is good!

Busy Weekend

On Saturday I drove up Logan canyon and took some neat pictures. The leaves on the trees are actually starting to change already. Later that night, I went to a Demolition Derby with some friends. I had never been to one before and it was pretty fun. Cars were on fire and wheels were falling off!

Lotoja 2008

Yesterday after class, I spent the rest of my day volunteering at the Lotoja bike race. Lotoja is a bike race that goes from Logan to Jackson Hole. The whole ride is 206 miles. My parents and my uncle also helped out yesterday. I helped mostly at the check-in tent getting the right sized t-shirts for the riders. My dad and my uncle helped out in the merchandise tent where people could by jerseys, water bottles, hats, etc. My mom helped check riders in. My legs and feet were so sore from running back and forth for so long but it was a good experience. My dad and uncle are helping out today as well, they will be driving to Jackson Hole after all the bikers have started and then they will help out at the finish line.

The First Week

Despite missing the bus, getting locked out of my bedroom, and blisters on my feet from walking all over in flip flops (bad idea), my first week of school has been pretty good so far. All of my classes seem like they will be manageable. I don't have a favorite class yet but I think that I will actually enjoy some of my classes this semester. I am certainly glad for a break from chemistry this semester!

Today I went to Cafe Rio with my room mates and afterwards we went to a Cake Party someone was throwing in our building. It was pretty fun and there were a bunch of delicious cakes to eat. This weekend I'm heading home for the long labor day weekend!

Back to School

Tomorrow is the first day of my third year in college. Summer went by too fast. I'm a little nervous but not to bad. I'm going to be taking Physics, Creative Arts, a literature class, and a few animal classes. Oh, and institute too! I've finally met all five of my new roommates and they all seem really nice. We went to church together today and that was good. I hope it will be a good year all around with good roommates and good classes.

Olympics!

This week I've enjoyed watching the 2008 Olympic games. I love to watch gymnastics and the US has done pretty good in this event so far. I only wish it wasn't on so late at night! Swimming has also been cool to watch. It's been neat to watch Michael Phelps beating world records and taking gold medal after gold medal! Other than watching the Olympics it has been a pretty uneventful week. School begins again a week from Monday.

I Finished It!

I just barely finished "Breaking Dawn" by Stephenie Meyer. It's been nearly three days of constant reading but it was a good book. Morgan has yet to finish it and my mom is anxious to read it when she returns from girls' camp.

Mama Mia!

Today my grandma took my mom, Morgan, and I to see Mama Mia. It was grandma's second time because she loves the music in the show. She's even bought the cd from the movie. It was actually a pretty cute movie and the music was good. It was a fun afternoon with grandma.

Mt. Saint Helens

A few weeks ago my dad and my sister, Morgan hiked Mt. Saint Helens in Washington state. I couldn't go because I was taking a summer chemistry course. They flew into Washington and spent a few days in Seattle and then they drove out to St. Helens. They meet my uncle Gary and my cousin Logan in Seattle and at St. Helens they met up with a family from our ward. They got up early in the morning on the day of the hike and it took them about 15 hours to hike to the top and back. There was snow and lots of lava rock and it was very steep. No body got seriously hurt but my uncle tweaked his knee on the way down. It sounded like a really neat adventure and I wish I could've gone with them. Oh well, next time....

Busy Summer!

We went camping once again last weekend. It was raining the first day but really hot the next day. We went down the river to cool off.
My mom and dad have been getting ready for girls camp and scout camp next week. Morgan has been going to conditioning to get ready for tryouts for the high school soccer team. Tryouts are also next week. I go back to Logan and work next week. So, it seems like next week is going to be very busy!!
It's been a busy summer but we've managed to have some fun. I'm starting to get excited for school to start back up again.

Camping for a Week!

Last week our family spent an entire week camping. It was very fun and relaxing. Mid-way through the week we took a side trip to Park City and rode the new alpine coaster. (Way better than the alpine slide).

On Tuesday night our dog Brindle had an encounter with a skunk. She got sprayed right in the face. It smelled so bad! We washed her with two bottles of ketchup and it seemed to help a little bit. Since we've been home we have tried skunk odor remover shampoos as well as hydrogen peroxide baking soda but nothing will remove the nasty odor from her head!

We also had a blast riding our ATV's all over the place and tubing down the river. It was a lot warmer this time so we spent the majority of the time out side.

This week was the start of my chemistry class. I am taking Organic chemistry and it's only the forth day and I'm already sick of it. It requires a lot of time for studying but I think I will do well since I only have to worry about one class.

Memorial Day Weekend

weekend we took
our trailer to Camelot, our yearly
camping spot. It rained most of the time but we did have some blue sky. We had fun riding quad- runners and the golf cart. My grandparents, aunt and uncle, and cousins went and we had a good time enjoying each others' company. It was a good break from work for all of us and it was nice to relax.

New Bed Spread

Last week I got a new bed spread, sheets, and pillows for my room in Logan. It turned out to be really cute! I've been having fun decorating my room.

Fun Week

Last week I took the whole week off work and went home and stayed with my family. It was fun to get away from work and just relax. We went to the Gateway mall did some shopping. I washed my car and helped my mom plant some flowers. I took my dogs on a few walks. I even finished a couple books while I was home. Grandma took us out for ice cream one day. Morgan and I worked on learning some duets on the piano. It was a fun week and I'm glad I took a break from work.

Finals are over!!

Finals are over as of Friday! I did well on all of them. I'm so glad to finally have some free time. My plans for summer include: earning money for school, taking organic chemistry, exercising more, and to just have fun. I moved into a new apartment yesterday and it is awesome! I've switched from having bunk beds and a small room to having a private room with my very own bathroom! I'm especially excited about the bathroom! I'd say that I've definitely upgraded. My room is even bigger than my room at home. I think it will be a good summer!

Pre-Vet Club

Best TV Day Ever!

Tonight my favorite tv shows return! Lost and Grey's Anatomy! The wait is finally over and the previews for tonights new episodes look promising! I'm excited to have something to watch again!

It's Snowing!

I woke up today to find snow on the ground! Yesterday people were wearing shorts and flip flops and now we're back to coats and hats. It seems like the weather can't make up its' mind. My finals are next week and I was hoping to be able to study outside like I did last year. It doesn't look like that's going to happen! I can't wait for summer and warm weather!

I love books!

I have added a list of all the books I am currently reading. Yes, I read them all at the same time. I know it's weird but that's how I have always read books. Usually, I try to keep it at five books at a time but right now I'm a little over five. I love to read! It's what I do when I have some free time.

My favorite pets!

This is Scout. He is an Australian Shepherd mix. He's is the newest addition to our family. He's a year old and gets along great with Brindle. His favorite thing to do is sit on your lap! He loves people and playing with his toys.

really good. Brindle loves to eat ice and chew up squeaker toys.
Brindle is very smart and she has learned how to open our

sliding glass door and come inside whenever she pleases. We

only wish she could learn how to close the door behind her!

Life at Utah State!

I am curently a sophmore at Utah State University. I'm majoring in Bioveterinary Science. When I not in class I am working as a technician at a vet clinic. I love my job because every day is different and I get to work with animals.
